My eldest daughter is 21 and I love her to pieces. She does however, piss me off in the worst way sometimes. I think that this phase of her life is more difficult than the terrible two's ever were.
I feel as though I am at my wits end with her and I don't know what to do.
This is soo hard!
I miss the days when she thought that I was all knowing and would believe me when I told her something...Now, I am old (although, at 40, I am not) and I don't what it's like 'now' cuz things were different 'when I was young.'
Gaahh!!!
How can I get through to her??
Help!

Oh man, I know that one! My eldest is only just 14 and when she starts telling me that things are different now than when I was her age...I remind her that at her age I was at a Boarding School and didn't even have my parents around to listen to my troubles or even help me!
Just ride it out and try not to tell her what to do...be there for when she mucks it up without an "I told you so" (and if it works remind me in a few years will ya (when mine gets to 21...)
One way is to communicate with your daughter, and give her plenty of loving eye contact.
Also, praying in her room when she is gone is a big plus, that helps alot!
sooner or later they all come around
The Sagittarian - This is my eldest daughter and we have always gotten along well...Until recently. I am really, REALLY, trying to back off and not boss her around. I am...It is not easy at all! Lol! If it works, I will be sure to remind you!
Yvette - We have always been able to communicate very well, until just the past few months or so. We used to spend alot of time together, but not so much recently.
She doesn`t live at home anymore, sadly. I am ok with her spreading her wings, but I just think that were she is now is not the best place for her, you know?
I will keep praying though :)
